#FeatureFRIYAY November: an API playground, custom plugin properties and more!

This month, we’re excited to share some new features and a bunch of helpful content to make the most out of your customer-facing analytics. Read on below to find out more!

Custom plugin properties

We’ve extended our plugin connectors to enable new functionalities. You can now set up connections with plugins with more configurable properties. This means you are not limited to host, key and token but can also define the region, the default workspace and much more in the plugin properties. Whatever you need for your particular plugin!

A new Cumul.io API playground with Python SDK

Is Python your preferred coding language? We’ve built an interactive environment for you to run, test and play around with the Cumul.io API via the Python SDK! On this interactive API playground, you’ll find some Jupyter Notebooks, hosted through Google Colaboratory. With these notebooks, you can easily:

  • Create a dashboard;
  • Create a dataset;
  • Add data to your dataset;

Simply add your key and token, and run the code cells straight from within this interface! You can adapt the code to your liking and explore our API in a fairly easy way. This is a first edition of the playground, with more notebooks to come. What else would you like to see?

Try it out, share your feedback, and show what you’ve built in our Discord Community!

Newsflash: some fresh new content to enjoy!

Cumul.io at ThinkThings 2021

Are you active in the IoT industry? With millions of data points generated through sensors, IoT devices and other smart applications, it can be challenging to transform all that raw data into smart data insights. Let alone to open up that data to your customers or users in a visual, interactive way.

To address these challenges, Proximus invited our CEO and Founder Karel Callens at ThinkThings 2021. In his talk, he shares how IoT companies have leveraged powerful embedded analytics to drive better decision-making.

Learn about Citizen Developers on the Data Space Podcast

Did you think building tools and applications without deep technical knowledge is impossible? Think again.

In this 2nd episode of the Data Space podcast, we talked to Victor Kuppers, VP of Strategy & Citizen Development at Betty Blocks about the rising trend of Citizen Developers. Listen to the podcast to learn:

  • What citizen developers are;
  • How low & no-code tools are empowering a huge group of non-technical business people;
  • How it changes the daily jobs of developers, who can now finally focus on more complex development tasks at hand;

What’s coming next?

Our team is working hard on a major new product offering to be released early in 2022. We won’t reveal too much just yet, but it will be a major game changer to give even more analytical power to your end users.

We are currently gathering feedback from beta testers, as well as our second Customer Advisory Board with ambassadors. We’re excited to tell you more very soon. But if you’ve gotten curious, then save the date on February 9 for a special launch event!
