We welcomed “Cumul.io inside” to the world: our 678th product update! And it was a big one. Last week, we held a modest kick-off event to present this significant update to our initial launch customers. To find out all about it, find a short recap below.
Our latest update offers better possibilities to integrate dashboards into your own platform or application. To celebrate & share weeks of hard work, we invited a number of clients with specific interest to our new integration features at the office.
We were flattered by the positive reactions of the attendees. Their feedback will help us to make our integrated analytics more powerful for all of you.
During the kick-off, Karel Callens (CEO) and Haroen Vermylen (CTO) introduced Cumul.io inside. They explained the possibilities and benefits, followed by a technical demo of the new features. In short, these were the key take-aways:
Embed dashboards in your platform in 1, 2, 3
One of the biggest advantages is the integration of Cumul.io into your own application. It was already possible to embed dashboards, but now it’s easier than ever thanks to recent optimizations.
To sum up, a few enhancements that happened:
Embed dashboards in your platform or app with just a few lines of code. You won’t need more than this piece of code.
Easily personalize: add your own branding, and customize dashboard view & styling for each of your clients.
Dashboards will scale automatically to your screen size for a perfect experience across desktop, mobile and tablet.

Connect to any data source with plugins
Before the update, you could easily connect to a number of databases and web services like Salesforce, Google Analytics,… with our out-of-the-box integrations. We wanted to make it just as easy for you to connect to ány other possible data source.
And now you can, with plugins!
What are plugins?
A plugin is a flexible ‘data adapter’ between Cumul.io on the one hand, and public or private APIs and data stores on the other hand. As such, it lets data from different data sources flow into Cumul.io in real-time.
Why and how to use plugins?
Easily build your own plugin for any data source you want to connect. Typically, you’ll need less than 100 lines of code.
Share plugins with who you want. Build a private plugin, share it with the public for re-use, or make use of plugins that were built and shared by others.
Work with real-time information in your dashboards, without storing your data in Cumul.io.
We built a few example plugins to show you how simple it is. For example, find our reference plugins for Asana and MongoDB in our github repository!
Watch the video to discover how one of our clients integrated Cumul.io in their app. As a result, their reporting is made easy, and fully automated. So if you’re interested to have dashboards running in your platform, don’t hesitate to contact us for more information!
